Went to a Sounds Game yesterday and I can’t wait to go to another one. We even saw a Grand Slam! It was badass. The Memphis Redbirds ate our dust. It was a great way to spend a lazy Sunday. I am trying to enjoy all the fun things I wasn’t able to do or afford in New York. Next on my list after Baseball is a Race at the Fair Ground. Who’s with me?

House Inspiration
June 9, 2009 · 2 Comments
I am going over to the new house to measure the concrete patio to see if it is big enough for a tent style gazebo! I might snap a couple pictures too. In the mean time I went through all my favorite pictures to find some decorating inspiration. Enjoy.

After searching craigslist Cory and I finally found a house! And after answering some pretty silly questions about why I got arrested for drinking when I was 19 we got approved for it! It’s on the Eastside right in between 5 points and Shelby Park. It has everything we were looking for: hardwood floors, lots of windows, central heat and air, 2 bedrooms, lots of closet space, new appliances, and a fenced in yard complete with a shed! Two of the times I went to look at it there were also bunnies in the yard. I think it was an omen. We move in the 15th and I absolutely cannot wait to start decorating. I killed some time this afternoon before the Art Crawl searching etsy and made a wishlist for my new nest:
This amazing silk quilt is from the turn of the century and features cigarette company logos!

Plants add the nicest feeling to an indoor room and McCoy made the best planters ever!
I really want matching side tables for the bedroom so we can each had a lamp and place to set things and these 1970s Hollywood regency bamboo hexagon tables are Gorgeous!

I’m Back!

Sorry for my absense the last few weeks. Life has been extremely hectic but I have to admit it feels great to be too busy again! I am always happiest when I have lots going on and after months of desperately trying to occupy my time in Brooklyn it seems ironic that after 2 weeks in Nashville my plate is full. The most exciting thing I am working on is a new website for Textile Fabric Store. It is by far the best fabric store in town and locally owned and run to boot! The selection there is on par with M&J Trimmings and Mood Fabrics in New York. I thought I would really miss the garment district but Textile has all the bases covered. Number one on my list this Summer is improving dreadful awful sewing skills. I am barely even on beginner level and considering how much I love vintage clothing I could really benefit from a basic knowledge and construction and alterations. I constantly have ideas for original dresses too, so maybe one day I will be able to actually make them! That would be sweet.

When you are getting ready to try to negotiate with Brooklyn Slum Lords it helps to have someone tough on your side. I am once again reminded of the wish I have had since I was a little girl: that Clint Eastwood was my Grandpa. I can’t think of anyone better to come to my rescue. Grandpas are supposed to do that, right?
